Honoring Derrick Fudge at the Grand Opening of Our Community Resource Center

July 2026

We are pleased to announce that The FUDGE Foundation Community Resource Center will officially open its doors on Friday, August 7th at 3:00 PM.

Located at 1670 Weaver Street in Dayton, this communal space has been a long time in the making. What started as an idea for a place where our community could come together for healing, resources, and support, is now a reality. The road here wasn’t always easy, but we got it done with a lot of hard work and the generous support of our neighbors, family & friends, and local leaders, businesses, and organizations.

The Center is dedicated to the memory of Derrick Fudge, who was taken from us in the 2019 Oregon District mass shooting. Derrick was the father of our founder, Dion Green, and his memory is at the heart of everything we do. This building stands as a tribute to him and to every person who believes that our community can heal and grow stronger.

We couldn’t have reached this milestone without the many volunteers, donors, and neighbors who stepped up along the way—whether you helped with the renovation, donated supplies, or simply cheered us on. The Community Resource Center is as much yours as it is ours.

We still have some finishing touches to complete, but we’re ready to welcome you in. We hope you’ll join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and see for yourself what we’ve built together.

Friday, August 7th at 3:00 PM
1670 Weaver Street, Dayton, OH 45417

We look forward to seeing you there.
